In the late 1950’s, US physicist Hugh Everett revolutionized our understanding of quantum mechanics by introducing The Wave Function of the Universe Theory, also known as The Many-Worlds Theory.

Everett's discovery proposes that with every choice we make the wave function splits in two creating a parallel, but separate, reality resulting in an infinite number of alternate worlds.

Plunged within the depths of the multiverse, both familiar and otherworldly, this series aims to confront the rigidity of our gender binary systems and deconstruct the cognitive biases that uphold them. Using principles of quantum physics, I hope to invite the viewer to dream of a better world.

Contrast (2022) aims to create, rather than just hold, new spaces for trans and gender ambiguous fol(x) to thrive. 

All individuals in this series were photographed at pinnacle moments in their journey towards gender affirmation.

Qualified as the deadliest year for the trans community since the reports began, 2021 also witnessed a significant rise in anti-trans laws being adopted in the US. A total of 130 anti-LGBTQ bills were introduced, of which 25 have officially passed into law, with more than half of the newly enacted legislature targeting the trans community specifically.


These numbers are only the tip of the iceberg, as many victims are misgendered and many acts of violence go unreported.


Contrast (2022) comes as a reaction to these reports.
